Overview
With a team of 3, design and build an acrylic truss capable of supporting an applied load given various geometric, material, and support constraints.
Practice problem used to verify functionality of MATLAB program by comparing hand-written and computational results.
Personal Contributions
Designed 2 truss designs within specified geometric and support constraints.
Supported the creation of a MATLAB program intended to analyze compression and tension along members of my designs. This determined which design would support a greater load.
Completed practice problem by hand to compare to MATLAB program results (below).
Took equal part in fabricating the design with acrylic beams and tape and testing the maximum carrying capacity.
